The 4-hour test remains indispensable: we apply the perfume on our wrist and observe its evolution. The head notes disappear in 15 minutes, the heart notes develop between 30 minutes and 2 hours, the background notes persist more than 4 hours.
Harmony with our pH greatly influences the holding and rendering of the perfume. Acid skin (pH less than 5.5) intensifies fresh notes, while alkaline skin (pH greater than 6.5) further reveals woody and oriental notes.
Seasonality guide our choices: we prefer light and fruity fragrances in spring-summer (concentration 8-12 %), more intense and warm compositions in autumn-winter (concentration 15-20%).
